Frontier Worker Permit

Brexit has brought many changes to UK immigration law. Foremost among these is the rights of Europeans in the UK. Many Europeans have lived and worked in the UK from before 31 December 2020, and should therefore be eligible for status under the EU Settlement Scheme. The deadline for applying to the EU Settlement Scheme has passed, but for Europeans with a history of working in the UK can now apply for a visa which allows them to travel in and out of the UK for work. This is called a Frontier Worker Permit.

How Can I Qualify For The Frontier Workers Permit?

In order to be eligible for a Frontier Worker Permit, you must meet the following requirements:

• You must have begun working in the UK by 31 December 2020.
• Your work in the UK must be “genuine and effective”
• Your primary home must be outside of the UK.
• You must have spent less than 180 days in the UK over any twelve-month period.

You must be able to provide evidence to prove that you meet the general requirements laid about above. Note however that there are some exceptions to these requirements. While you do not have to be currently working in the UK to be eligible for a Frontier Worker Permit, you do have to prove that you have worked in the UK before 1st January 2021.

What Are The Fees?
